Regional Disaster Management Director in East Africa

CChristopher Hoffman is currently the Regional Disaster Management Director in East Africa for World Vision (WVI), the world's largest non-governmental organization focusing on children, where he facilitates a portfolio of over $300 million USD. He provides strategic and operational leadership for the implementation of World Vision’s humanitarian and emergency response in the region. Prior to working with WVI, Chris was the Regional Emergency and Post Crisis Advisor (among other posts) for Asia and the Pacific with the International Organization for Migration (IOM). During his time with IOM, Chris worked in more than 30 countries and in a number of disaster and emergency responses in the Caribbean, Africa and Asia. He is currently leading a number of initiatives throughout East Africa on innovation and sustainability in refugee settings towards greater impact and cost effective programming as well as developing a number of predictive modeling tools related to humanitarian impact and early warning on slow onset disasters and conflict.
